Join Mark Rich, former Curator of Mammals at the San Diego Zoo, as he shares his adventure to obtain and bring back a baby Ceylonese elephant from Sri Lanka. The month-long expedition included studying elephants in the wild, the Penniwela Elephant Orphanage, Sri Lanka's National Zoo, the Singapore Zoological Gardens and Indonesia's Surabaya Zoo. But the focus is on a little elephant named Devi, which means 'Little Princess', and the complicated and unusual way she finally arrived at the San Diego Zoo.
