Course Detail: NC-MEAD - Brewing Foundations: Principles of Mead and Meadmaking

In this course, students will learn about history, ingredients, and fermentation techniques of mead and meadmaking. Students will learn the origins and history of mead in Africa, Asia, and Europe. They will also learn the types of meads and their ingredients: both traditional and modern styles. Students will gain a background on honeybees and honey production as well as hands-on experience in mead fermentation. The class will be held at Blackheath Meadery.
