Course Detail: OSH-TRUTHS1 - We Hold These Truths...Part 2 - The National Archives

CLASSES AND BUS TRIP We will review a brief history of America's founding and America's founding documents in conjunction with an overview of the National Archives and its role in preserving American history This introduction will be followed by a day-long trip to the National Archives in DC. A final session will be devoted to sharing our individual experiences at the Archives. Part 1 of 'We Hold These Truths' was held in Spring 2019. Several sessions were devoted to reviewing the contents of America's founding documents-the Articles of Confederation, the Declaration of Independence, and the United States Constitution including the Bill of Rights. All but the Articles will be on display at the Archives in the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom. You are not required to have participated in Part 1 of the course to attend Part 2. You are, however, encouraged to read these documents prior to class. Copies can be found at the National Archives website. https://museum.archives.gov.
