Course Detail: PER648 - Sip and Savor: Tea Essentials - NEW!


Explore the vast world of tea!

Students will be guided by The Olive Twist, retail olive oil store owner, Lori Berndt on a fun and educational journey to learn about this aromatic beverage enjoyed all around the world. In addition to experiencing several proper tea tastings during the session, students will learn:

  • The origins of tea
  • How to distinguish between various tea types and how they are processed (Black, Green, Herbal, White, Oolong, and more)
  • Proper growing, packaging, brewing, and steeping techniques to ensure the best quality
  • Health benefits associated with teas and more

Students will enjoy tea sandwiches, scones, and a dessert during the course and be provided with tea samples to take home. Don't miss your chance to "get the tea" on tea!






Lori Berndt is president and co-owner of The Olive Twist, Inc. and has been in the olive oil industry since 2010. She studies the in-depth world of olive oil by focusing on olive oil chemistry, tasting & sensory analysis, and through her close relationships with growers, importers, and olive oil experts.
