Course Detail: PER664 - Ceramics: Mugs and Handle Making
If you are looking for an opportunity to learn how to put a handle on a mug or improve your pottery skills, this is the class for you! The workshop will focus on wheel-throwing cups and learning various methods of handle-making. Demonstrations and one-on-one instruction will be included. Participants will have the opportunity to make, glaze, and finish mugs as well as make other pottery forms during open lab times.Who Should Attend?
These classes are designed for all skill levels. No prior ceramics experience needed.
* Students will need to supply the following: 1-gallon bucket, towel, apron, and plastic bags.
Students are also required to supply a pottery tool kit. Kits can be purchased from either of these suppliers:
Instructor Seth Green is an Associate Professor of Ceramics in the Department of Art and Design at Purdue Fort Wayne. He received a MFA degree in Ceramics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2009 and a BA degree in Art from Southern Utah University in 2006. He enjoys teaching ceramics, is active in his studio practice, and receives national recognition for his ceramic vessels.
