Chelsi Bennett
Biography: Chelsi H. Bennett, J.D. is a government relations and communications executive, former elected official, founder of the LWC Foundation, and host of Chats with Chelsi, a podcast and digital talk show. She has a heart for young women and often shares the victories and obstacles of her life as encouragement and motivation through her women's ministry, Life with Chelsi. 

Mrs. Bennett began her career working for a global company with offices in over 70 countries - she co-led global technology implementations and managed diversity committees globally. In 2010, she was elected to the Duval County Soil and Water Conservation District in Jacksonville, Florida. She served for three years, where she petitioned and advocated on behalf of her community. Mrs. Bennett ran and was elected on a platform of bringing corporate and executive experience to her passion for natural resource conservation. She was the youngest elected female in Jacksonville's history. While serving her community as an elected official, Mrs. Bennett completed her law degree at Florida Coastal School of Law in 2013, was appointed as a regional public affairs manager for a Florida Cabinet Member (statewide elected), and was a campus missionary at a local HBCU. 

After completing law school, Mrs. Bennett was promoted to serve as a senior policy advisor at the Florida Capitol. Her portfolio included environmental, military, and veterans' affairs. While in Tallahassee, she also provided pro-bono legal counsel and assistance to low-income families in need. 

Mrs. Bennett has been recognized by CNN as one of ten "Up-and-Comers to Watch" and was profiled in 2012 by Seventeen magazine as an "Electionista" to promote the importance of young women voting. She was also a columnist for Ebony magazine and has appeared on CNN, FOX, MTV, BBC, MSNBC, NEWSMAX, and numerous local stations. Mrs. Bennett resides in North Chesterfield with her husband, Rev. Jonathan Bennett.

Grassroots Lobbying and Advocacy Professional Certificate
Class meetings total 50 contact hours, with weekly class meetings on Tuesday & Thursday evenings. Students who successfully complete the program will receive a Professional Certificate in Grassroots Lobbying & Advocacy from the University of Richmond, and will earn 50 professional hours (equivalent to 5 CEUs) that can be applied to professional development goals.
