The School of Professional & Continuing Studies offers classes and programs related to preparing high school students for college and career choices, including SAT and ACT test preparation.

Our classes and programs also address preparing yourself for a new career, whether you are graduating from high school, college or graduate school, or you are preparing for an updated career in a new field.

S.T.E.P.S. to Success with The College Edge

Our S.T.E.P.S. (Strategies & Techniques for Enhancing Performance & Skills) to Success program introduces important skills, techniques and strategies to maximize success on test day, and provides advice for entry-level college and career planning. Also includes The College Edge, a college-application preparation program for rising high school seniors.

This course is designed to educate individuals in the science of nutrition and its role in health and weight management and to provide the necessary tools to build a solid foundation for sound nutrition practice.

What do you want to do when you finish high school? Identifying a career path is the first step in deciding what occupations and college majors might be right for you. Learn how your interests fit into career families, and then identify what possible occupations are related.

Start an exciting fitness career and become a Certified Personal Trainer. Our personal trainer course combines in-class learning with practical labs to prepare you for a career in fitness. Also includes the option to complete an employer internship that can walk you into jobs!


Starts May 31. Due to COVID-19, this course will be held in a SELF-PACED online format over 6 weeks
This online course includes planning, coordinating and directing weddings as well as a study of business structure, documentation information, contracts, how to work with vendors, marketing and how to work with prospective brides and groom


This is an online course. You have 6 months from when you register to complete the course.
Our S.T.E.P.S. (Strategies & Techniques for Enhancing Performance & Skills) to Success program introduces important skills, techniques and strategies to maximize success on test day. Our uniquely designed SAT Prep workshops focus on the three content areas including Math, Reading Comprehension, and Writing and Language. An introduction to the Essay is included as well.

Our uniquely designed PSAT Prep course presents important techniques and tips for taking the test. We will cover what to expect in the Math and English sections, while practicing questions and reviewing the answer explanations. This is a great way to decrease test anxiety and gain valuable skills in a 'no pressure' class! Course is designed for students taking the test in October, who have not taken the PSAT before.

This seminar addresses the complexity of trauma, identifies the effects of trauma and describes the neurobiology of trauma. Provides a framework for trauma-informed care and helps participants implement tools and strategies within a trauma-informed care system. NOTE: This course will launch in Fall 2020. It is eligible for 1.8 CEUs (18 hours of Continuing Education Units.) Course fee and exact dates will be announced this summer.
