Course: Clear(er) Communication for Professionals (NC-CLEARCOM)

In today's volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous world, it is enormously challenging for us to send and receive information that is clear, concise, complete, and concrete. Whether we are doing our jobs, communicating with friends and family, or engaging in productive citizenship, it appears as though the messages we send and receive are misunderstood, misinterpreted, or simply missed. The purpose of this course is to examine skills and techniques to greatly improve our communications so that our intended messages (whether verbal, non-verbal, written, or broadcast) have the same meaning to their recipients. Two books are referenced extensively, and are recommended for further reading: Asking The Right Questions: A Guide to Critical Thinking, and Crucial Conversations.
