In this introductory course, you will embark on an exciting journey to learn German from scratch. Whether you're planning a trip to Germany, interested in exploring German literature and culture, or simply eager to expand your linguistic horizons, this course is the perfect starting point.





Throughout the duration of the course, you will develop essential language skills in four key areas:


Pronunciation: Master the sounds of the German language and learn the intricacies of proper pronunciation through interactive exercises and guided practice sessions. Build confidence in speaking German fluently and accurately from the very beginning.

Basic Vocabulary: Lay a solid foundation by acquiring a diverse range of essential vocabulary words and phrases. From everyday greetings and expressions to common nouns, verbs, and adjectives, you will gradually build your vocabulary repertoire, empowering you to engage in basic conversations with ease.

Basic Grammar: Delve into the fundamental principles of German grammar, including sentence structure, verb conjugation, noun declension, and adjective agreement. Gain a clear understanding of grammatical concepts through structured lessons, hands-on activities, and real-world examples, paving the way for effective communication in German.

Course Structure:

Each session of the course will span two hours, providing you with ample time to immerse yourself in the language and practice your newfound skills. The first hour will be dedicated to intensive study and interactive learning, focusing on grammar, vocabulary expansion, pronunciation drills, and speaking activities. Engage in lively discussions, role-plays, and group exercises designed to reinforce your understanding and fluency in German.

In the second hour, you will sharpen your reading proficiency through targeted exercises and guided reading sessions. Explore a variety of texts selected to match your proficiency level, ranging from beginner-friendly passages to more challenging materials. Instructor Aaron Stanley is a German teacher and avid traveler. He has a Bachelor's Degree from Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne and an Indiana educator's license. He spent two months abroad in Germany and another month between England, France, and Spain. He has worked with international and domestic students for a number of years, and enjoys sharing the German language and culture with others.
