Course Detail: PER301 - Appleseed Writing Project Summer Youth Writing Camps (Middle School)


This camp is open to students entering grades 7, 8, or 9 in Fall 2020.

This camp is designed for students who enjoy the experiences of writing in a noncompetitive, nonjudgmental environment where they will be able to allow their pens to follow their hearts. Included will be an introduction to poetry, narratives, and short fiction, along with such topics as voice, character, and narrative. Students will also learn how to critique, revise, and publish their finished products.

NOTE: For middle school students, a teacher's note and signature are required.

The 2020 Summer Youth Writing Camps are available to students in grades 7 through 9 and will culminate with an open house reading event where students will present their writings to the public. No previous creative writing experience is necessary - only a desire to write and willingness to participate in the daily activities.

Camps meet at the PFW Campus with transportation provided by parents or caregivers.
