Course Detail: CMP509 - Video Production



Do you have a story to tell or information you would like to share with a video?

This class is designed for students with no prior knowledge of video production.

Learn to record and produce your own video using Adobe Premiere Pro. The course will be hands-on, project based - teaching the fundamentals of planning, shooting, editing and exporting videos. Topics include importing video and audio and adding text and images to your project.

Students must have a digital video camera, DSLR camera, or smart phone to record video for the class. Tripods are also highly recommended. Students will create 3-4 short videos during the course.

Students must attend all four (4) live class sessions to earn the certificate of completion.




Access to Purdue Fort Wayne lab computers and Adobe Premiere Pro software is available during the course.



Instructor John Nicklin is the Studio M Media Coordinator at Purdue University Fort Wayne. Nicklin received a BFA in Graphic Design from IPFW and has taught Photoshop® at the Department of Visual Communication and Design. He has a background in digital photography, computer art, video, and music production, as well as being a freelance artist, focused on painting and illustration.
