Course Detail: LNG102 - American Sign Language: Beginning II

Continue to hone your American Sign Language skills!

Students will continue to build phrases and sentences with the vocabulary acquired during American Sign Language: Beginning I, as well as some new vocabulary. Students will practice phrases and sentences by recording their own signing and uploading their videos for review. Students will also continue to explore the world of Deaf culture by learning more about the history of Deaf culture in the United States, famous Deaf individuals, and the impact of recent laws and technology on the modern-day Deaf community.

About the Instructor:

Erin Trimble holds a Bachelor of Science in American Sign Language/English Interpreting from William Woods University and a Master of Arts in Interpreting Studies degree from Western Oregon University. Since 2003, Trimble has been professionally interpreting across a variety of settings including education, community, and medical. She has been both a staff interpreter and a freelance interpreter.
