Course Detail: PER412 - Handmade Journals - NEW!

Assemble your own  handmade journal!

Students will design and assemble their own handmade journal. The finished 6"x 9" journal will feature a square-back case binding, 72 blank pages, and be adorned with hand-decorated paste paper that students will create themselves. Each student will walk away with one finished journal as well as three pieces of paste paper and the knowledge of how to continue to make the beautiful journals on their own. Learn a new hobby and gain the skill to craft your own personalized gifts for friends and loved ones this upcoming holiday season!

Important Notes:
  • All art supplies are included.
  • This class is open to anyone, at any level.
  • Art educators can earn 8 PGPs by participating in this course.





Jim Williams is a Senior Lecturer at Purdue University Fort Wayne.  He holds an Undergraduate Degree from Hunter College, New York City, and a Master of Fine Arts in Book Arts from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa.  Locally, Jim has shown work at 1832 Studio and Gallery, WunderKammer Gallery, Crestwood Gallery, ArtLink, as well as the Paradigm Gallery at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, where his work is for sale.
