Course Detail: CMP718 - Microsoft® Excel® 2021: Part 3

Take Your Excel® Knowledge to the Next Level

This course builds upon the foundational and intermediate knowledge presented in the Microsoft® Excel® Part 1 and 2 courses. It will provide you the ability to collaborate with colleagues, automate complex or repetitive tasks, and use conditional logic to construct and apply elaborate formulas and functions. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to perform advanced data analysis, collaborate on workbooks with other users, and automate workbook functionality.

Prerequisite: Excel® Part 2 or functional knowledge of basic Excel®.



Objectives

  • Work with multiple worksheets and workbooks
  • Share and protect workbooks
  • Automate workbook functionality 
  • Use Lookup functions, dynamic arrays, and formula auditing
  • Forecast data
  • Create sparklines and map data 

This class has two options to participate:

1. Fully in-person at Purdue Fort Wayne. Students will participate in the live sessions during the scheduled course days and times.


2. Fully online via Zoom. Students will participate in the live sessions during the scheduled course days and times. (Online Course Requirements: Students should have access to Excel® 2019 or newer, a reliable internet connection, and a computer camera and microphone).

You will be able to select the option that works for you (ONLINE or IN-PERSON) at time of registration.

If you have never taken an online course before, taking the course in-person is encouraged.



Attendance Policy: Students must attend all three (3) live sessions to receive the course completion certificate.


Instructor Todd Raines is the IT Training Coordinator at Purdue University Fort Wayne. Raines is the recipient of the University Continuing Education Association (UCEA) Mid-America Region Excellence in Teaching and Faculty Service Award.
