Course Detail: CAA133A - Tap I (Ages 4-6)

This is a great introductory class that will get young students used to making sounds with different parts of the tap shoe. Elements such as toe taps, heel digs, shuffles, and ball-changes are taught. Body rhythms and using imaginative play to explore improvisation will be incorporated. There will be an emphasis on dancing to the beat and hearing rhythms of different music. A dance recital will take place on the last day of class; families and friends are invited to attend. Costumes for the recital will be provided but the following items will be required for class:
Girls: Solid color leotard, pink tights and black tap shoes
Boys: White t-shirt, solid color pants and black tap shoes

PLEASE NOTE: When registering, please register the student's name, not the parent or guardian's name. Occasionally, if a dance class fails to meet minimum enrollment requirements, we will adjust the schedule and move the other dance classes to fill those time slots. Please be prepared.
