Course: Uisge Beatha: Celebrating Scotland's National Spirit (OSH-PXUISGEBEATHA)

Uisge Beatha, Scottish Gaelic for 'water of life', is the spirit we know as Scotch whisky. We will "tour" some distilleries in Scotland and explore the different regional styles of Scotch whisky. By examining the process of making single malt whisky, we will uncover the origins of flavor profiles in a brand's core range of whiskies. Finally, we will taste four distinct single malt Scotch whisky expressions from Glenkinchie, Glendronach, Laphroaig, and Highland Park. NOTE: These four distilleries are different from the last year's course offering. So, attendees of last year's class should recognize this and are encouraged to sign up again for this year's class. Fees are non-refundable unless we can fill your slot. The first session will be on campus; the second at the Kitchen Classroom.
