Memberships & Renewals

We recommend purchasing a new membership, renewing an existing membership, and upgrading to Gold membership in a separate shopping cart transaction.

Separating your membership purchase or renewal (including decisions to renew or upgrade to a different membership level) will ensure that you are charged the correct course fee for your membership level.

Your membership level determines your course fee; if you change your membership level at the same time you register for classes, you may be charged the fee applying to your previous level. Should this occur, you will be responsible for covering any shortfall, and we will refund any overcharges.

The best way to avoid this issue is to make membership purchases in a separate transaction from class registrations.

Courses

Osher Membership (New or Renewal)

Learners aged 50 and better are invited to join the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Richmond. We offer Gold and Silver levels for community members and UR Osher membership for eligible employees and retirees.

Membership runs for a full 12-month period plus the remaining days of the final month of membership.

Osher Membership Upgrade

Are you a Silver member who is wondering if an all-inclusive Gold membership is right for you? Silver members may upgrade at any time during the first six months of their membership year.
