This course will be based on historical and current writings, podcasts, documentaries, online resources and personal stories. On-screen Power Point slides including photographs, graphs, charts and maps will reinforce findings. We will focus on prominent historical figures from George Washington to Abraham Lincoln to Senator Joe McCarthy to Martin Luther King and more to better understand various times of polarization in the US as well as those championing ways to bring Americans together.
