Course: Tariffs, Again (OSH-TARIFFS)

The political and popular rhetoric around international trade and tariffs has shifted drastically over the past decade. In this course we will examine both theory and data about US imports, exports, and trade policies in order to understand how higher tariffs are likely to impact the economy and the international trading system.

Maia Linask

Biography: Maia Linask is Assistant Professor of Economics at the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond. She received her Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University. Her research examines the political economy of trade policy, the effect of trade liberalization and regional trade agreements on foreign direct investment, and the interaction of trade policy and product quality. Her research has appeared in the Journal of International Economics, the Review of International Economics, and Public Choice.
