Course: History of NCAA Women's Basketball with a focus on our Champion Women Spiders (OSH-HISTWBB)

Come celebrate the historic 2024/2025 season. In 2025 Richmond again won the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title, earned an at-large bid into the NCAA D1 Women's Basketball Tournament, and won the program's first NCAA Tournament game. This class will be very different from the previous classes as the focus will be strongly on the Spiders history going back to 1919, the historic 2024/2025 season, and the expectations for the upcoming season. If you love Spider Women's Basketball, this is the class for you. Or if you want to see what all the excitement is about come join us.

The Head Coach of the UR Women, Aaron Roussell, will join the class to offer his assessment on the historic season, the new team, and the upcoming season. The second session of this class will be hosted by the UR coaches and players at the Robins Center for a practice especially designed to engage our Osher class. The date for the practice session will be provided prior to the start of the class.

John Festa

Biography: Born in New Haven, CT and moved to Richmond in 2003. Educated as an Engineer and Project Manager with advanced degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (MSM 2002). Also attained certifications in Project Management (PMP) and as a certified Instructor for Project Management Institute. Work experience was as an Engineer, Project Manager and Engineering Manager.
