Aristotle in the 'Nicomachean Ethics' asks if there is some ultimate end toward which all human action ought to aim. Knowledge of such an end would be of utmost importance in guiding the conduct of our lives. 'Shall we not, like archers, who have a mark to aim at be more likely to hit upon what is right'? We'll discuss Aristotle's view of this ultimate end and the means he thought essential to achieving it.
