Biography: I'm a licensed nurse with 32+ years experience in healthcare, primarily, on the business and education side. I have worked with Medicare and the ABN process for many years. I train on this topic with my current employer both for internal staff as well as outside clients, such as, doctors, hospitals, labs, etc. Too often, I have seen Medicare patients presented with an ABN without any explanation as to what it is or why they need to sign it and it can have a detrimental financial impact or a negative impact on the testing they receive due to financial concerns.
