Course: Revisiting 'Twelve Angry Men' (OSH-TWELVE)

In a high school literature book, a section is titled 'Crying Out For Justice.' One of the pieces that focuses on that cry for justice is Reginald Rose's play Twelve Angry Men. The play aims at a jury of twelve men who are charged with determining the guilt or innocence of a teenage son accused of killing his father. Rose has created a play that not only looks at our system of justice, but considers the makeup of the twelve jurors and their responsibility to find justice with this case. Twelve Angry Men was a powerful play when it premiered in the 1950s, but might be even more insightful into our American psyche today as we continue to search for justice.
