Course: Joint Osher-ARRT-R Lecture: Abigail Adams (OSH-ABIGAIL)

Abigail Adams is one of the most fascinating individuals of our Founding Mothers. Professor Woody Holton, who has done extensive research about the life of Abigail Adams, will be sharing some rare insights about this brilliant and influential figure of our American Revolution. While her husband, John Adams, was focusing on Independence and grappling with problems associated with the Continental Congress, Abigail was advising him on policy matters, minding the family farm in Braintree, Massachusetts, and managing all financial affairs while raising a family in his absence. Professor Holton's talk will be a timely perspective as the Richmond American Revolution Round Table launches its 2026 Speaker Series for America's 250th Anniversary of the Signing of our Declaration of Independence.
