Course: A Virtual Trip to Antarctica (OSH-VIRTANT)

Join us in a diverse discussion of the history, biology, politics and environmental issues of the White Continent. It's considered a polar desert because it is the coldest, driest and windiest continent! Did you know there was a race to the South Pole or that it once had forests and dinosaurs? Don't forget all the different species of penguins and whales! Join us to learn about this very different place! We will provide an overview of the geology, geography, and biology. We'll take a look at the people who explored the continent, the current politics as well as the environmental/commercial issues. We will finish our journey with an overview of two different ways you can visit Antarctica.
