This semester we will view four great movies of the 'Film Noir' genre. We'll start with two lesser known films: 'Where the Sidewalk Ends,' starring the inimitable Dana Andrews and Gene Tierney, and 'The Verdict' with the Peter Lorre and Sydney Greenstreet. Then we'll move to the classic film 'Laura' (again with Andrews and Tierney), and end with 'Witness for the Prosecution,' a justifiably famous movie with fine performances from Charles Laughton and Marlene Dietrich.
