This class invites participants to explore a variety of journaling styles - from reflective writing and mindful bullet journaling to creative memory keeping and the timeless practice of commonplace journaling. Each session focuses on a unique theme designed to help you clear your mind, organize your thoughts, capture meaningful memories, and connect ideas in new ways. Through guided activities and hands-on projects, participants will develop personalized journaling practices that foster reflection, focus, and self-expression.

Week 1: Reflective Journaling: Clear the Mind & Set Intentions

Objectives:
  • Understand the benefits of journaling for mental clarity.
  • Reflect on personal goals and motivations for journaling.
  • Explore emotional benefits of daily gratitude routines.
  • Use intentional writing and affirmations to focus on goals and actions. 

Week 2: Bullet Journaling & Habit Tracking: Organize & Focus

Objectives:

  • Explore Bullet Journaling as a flexible life management tool.
  • Use Habit Tracking to build consistency and self-awareness.
  • Create systems that support personal goals and wellness.

Week 3: Memory Keeping & Junk Journaling: Creative Memory Collecting

Objectives:
  • Use journaling to document memories, moments, and experiences.
  • Explore creative, tactile ways to document life experiences.
  • Use found materials to express mood and story.
Week 4: Common Place Journaling & Integration: Collect, Create, Reflect & Grow.

Objectives:

  • Explore Commonplace Journaling - capturing quotes, ideas, lessons, and inspiration.
  • Combine all journaling types into a sustainable personal practice.
  • Celebrate creativity and growth.


About the Instructor
Marjae Cashdollar is a Designer and Illustrator with a passion for helping others succeed through shared knowledge. She holds an Associate of Science in Commercial Art and Bachelor of Fine Arts / Photography from Indiana University School of Visual & Performing Arts. With over 25 years of creative experience, she has extensive knowledge in the fields of graphic design, branding, product design, photography, illustration, large format printing, event signage, lettering, painting and more.
