Course detail: Human Trafficking Investigations: From Victim Identification to Prosecution
Human Trafficking Investigations: From Victim Identification to Prosecution is a practitioner-led interactive training course for all Kansas-certified law enforcement officers and non-commissioned analysts.
The course is designed to increase recognition and investigative skills in combatting human sex trafficking.
Core Competencies:
- Participants will employ best practices as they identify and respond to any crime involving human sex trafficking from its beginning to its eventual disposition.
Course Objectives:
- Define human trafficking and understand its different forms
- Identify the signs and indicators of human trafficking
- Identify common venues for trafficking and commercial sex
- Discover trafficker culture, advertising, and communication methods
- Review countermeasures and tactics used by traffickers
- Provide best practices for victim interviews
- Examine applicable statutes and elements of criminality
- Identify opportunities for corroborative evidence
- Develop and implement effective victim support strategies
- Identity legal remedies and advocacy for victims
- Review case studies

Who Should Attend:
- Law enforcement officers who work in or supervise investigations or patrol, including agency executives and heads.
- Civilian analysts working for law enforcement agencies.
