Course detail: Incident Safety Officer

This two-day IFSAC and Pro Board certification course addresses NFPA 1550, Chapter 5, Standard on Fire Department Occupational Safety, Health, and Wellness Programs, with a focus on the role, responsibilities, and competencies of the Incident Safety Officer (ISO) at emergency scenes. Course content emphasizes ISO integration within the Incident Command System, hazard recognition and risk evaluation, accident prevention, and safety management across all-hazards response types.

Required Text: Reeder, Fire Department Incident Safety Officer, 4th Edition.

National certification is available for this level.
