Course Detail: CEPD-BCLSOL - Blommer Chocolate Lean Training

This customized training for Blommer Chocolate focuses on both advanced lean techniques and leadership.  Integrates theories of business and statistics, with the goal of achieving tangible results through the elimination of waste and improved quality.  Includes project planning and various statistical tools to equip students to be lean leaders at their organization. The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certificate program will focus on both Advanced Lean Techniques and Six Sigma "Green Belt" methodologies. Detailed and real-world examples of lean thinking will be reviewed with hands - on examples to enhance the learning experience. Learn how to integrate theories of business, statistics, and the elimination of waste with the goal of achieving tangible results. Six Sigma methods will include project planning and various statistical tools to equip the student to be Green Belt certified and a practitioner of Lean Six Sigma at their organization.

RATIONALE: The student upon completion of the class will be able to use lean tools and leadership techniques. 

INTENDED AUDIENCE: Professionals in entry or mid-management positions who intend to utilize the tools related to leadership and lean methodologies.

EXPECTED STUDENT OUTCOMES:
1.    Develop a complete understanding of the Lean Production 
2.     Understand Philosophy, Process, People/Partners, and Problem Solving
3.     Develop a complete understanding of leadership principles. 
4.   Understand and be able to apply primary lean tools 
5.  DMAIC - Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control.  Understand and be able to implemented improvements using Six Sigma Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC).
6.  Soft Skills/Change Management - Understand the change process, examine why people resist change, learn to prepare, execute and reinforce change.
7.  Leadership/Followership - Understand models of leadership, access individuals' styles of leaders, describe tactics for enacting transformational leadership, define followership and discuss tactics for managing various follower styles.
8.  Interpersonal Skills for Thriving within Organizational Change - Learn essential communication skills for organization change, explore how clear expectations and communication enhance teamwork, learn how to encourage "healthy conflict," and examine situational factors influencing the effectiveness of different conflict management styles
9.  Self-Reflection - Defining your leadership strengths while identifying your team's strength. Utilizing Clifton Strengths Finder to understand your strengths and weaknesses.
