Summer Aviation Camp 2025 

Course Fee: $225

Dates: August 4 - 7, 2025

Times: 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. 

Course Description: Governors State University, in partnership with D14 and Bult Field Airport, is hosting hands-on aeronautical fun during August 4 - 7! Campers will be guided through all sorts of Aviation-themed activities! This program is also ideal for Homeschoolers. All are welcome! Registration will close at 25 participants!

  • Ages: Middle and High School Students (10 to 16)
  • Location: Bult Field Airport
  • Bring lunch!

Blues Kids Camp 2025

Blues Kids Camp 2025

Course Fee: $0 (Free with audition approval code) | Register after audition approval. 

Date: July 14 - 17, 2025


Time: 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. 

Course Description: Governors State University is hosting Blues Kids fun from July 14 to 17, 2025! Campers will be guided through basic music skills necessary to play proficiently and effectively in a music community and be introduced to the art of live professional performance! This program is ideal for any child passionate about music. All are welcome! Registration will close at 50 participants!

  • Ages: Middle and High School Students (11 to 16)
  • Location: Governors State University
  • Lunch and snacks are included in registration!
  • Children should bring their instruments! Arrangements can be made for kids without.

Blues Camp will cover important aspects of live performance, including: 

  • Music Literacy
  • Accompaniment 
  • Ensemble
  • Sound Leveling
  • Blues Cord Patterns
  • Call and Response
  • Practical Application of Skills
  • Creating a Set
  • Getting in the Groove!

Times: 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. 

Course Description: Governors State University is hosting hands-on science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics STEAM Camp Fun from the weeks July 21 - 25 and July 28 - August 1! Campers will be guided through STEAM activities after our normal hours! This program is ideal for parents and guardians with later working hours. All are welcome!

  • Ages: Middle and High School Students (11 to 16)
  • Location: Governors State University, F-Wing entrance
  • Snacks are included in the registration fee!
*Course fee will be waived for students that apply for our Scholarship and demonstrate need. Apply for the scholarship by June 30, 2025. STEAM Camp will be providing up to 25 children with this Scholarship. Once it has been approved, we will sign up your child with the information provided at no cost to you!

APPEAL - Attracting Promising Prospective Educators and Leaders

Camp Fee: $150

Dates: July 22, 24, 29 & 31 (Tues/Thurs)

Time: 9:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Camp Description: Theme: Teaching, Careers in Education. A four-day camp that operates during other camp sessions to allow children to learn the fundamentals of teaching. Support children ages 14-18 who have an interest in education careers and coordinate with other camps to give students hands-on teaching experience. It introduces teaching as a profession and teaching specialties.

Health and Human Services Camp

Health and Human Services Camp

Camp Fee: $100

Dates: June 26 & 27, 2025

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Camp Description: The Health Careers Camp is a two-day camp that focuses on different health career programs offered at GovState. These programs include Occupational Therapy, Communication Disorders, Physical Therapy, Nursing, Community Health, Social Work, Health Administration/Health Informatics, and Addictions. Campers will be coached in basic CPR.

Soft Skills to Pay the Bills

Camp Fee: Free

Dates: June 9-13, 2025

Time: 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m.

Camp Description: Theme: Employability Skills for Youth with Disabilities. A multi-day camp that encourages students aged 14-18 with disabilities to develop soft skills to gain and maintain employment. It focuses on resume building, communication skills, positive teamwork, and creating a professional network.
