CADC Test Preparation

Course Fee: $299

Dates: Choose Fall25 semester: December 11-13, 2025 or Spring26 semester: March 12-14, 2026

Times: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 
 
Course Description: The course is intended to prepare applicants for the CADC exam.  It has been approved for (18) CEU's from the Illinois Certification Board and/or as a 2 hour credit course to GSU students. The course provides review of the material covered in the CADC exam including the 4 identified domains and applying the knowledge in each domain to direct practice situations. The course is divided up into three full class days via zoom.

Trauma-Informed Care
This two-hour workshop helps professionals recognize and respond to trauma by integrating principles of
safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment into their work.

Building a Trauma Responsive Organization
Trauma affects students, families, and professionals alike. This two-hour interactive workshop helps leaders
and educators build trauma-responsive organizations by applying key principles at both individual and
organizational levels.

Mental Health First Aid
This eight-hour workshop teaches you to identify, understand, and respond to mental health and substance
use challenges, providing skills to offer initial help and support in a crisis.

Course Description:

Drawing on Dr. Evisha Ford's book Benches in the Bathroom, this session will explore the lived realities of those navigating trauma, highlight the hidden costs of unresponsive organizational cultures, and provide practical strategies to create environments that foster safety, belonging, and growth. Through reflection, discussion, and application, participants will leave with a framework for cultivating systems that center compassion while maintaining accountability and excellence.
