Pilot Training - Discovery Flights

Course Fee: $200 

Register here for your Discovery Flight with GovState and a Continuing Education representative will contact you to schedule your flight. 

Course Description: This is a one-hour flight experience with an instructor.  You will learn essential aviation principles, safety procedures, and aircraft controls.  You will get to fly the plane.

Private Pilot Ground School

Course Fee: $2,724

Dates: June 15 through September 28, 2024

Times: Monday & Wednesday, 6 to 9 p.m. 

Course Description: The objective of this course is to orient the incoming student to flight training and provide the theory and concepts needed for preparing for the FAA private pilot aeronautical knowledge test (airplane). Flight time fees not included. 

Topics include: airplane systems, aerodynamics, flight instruments, procedures & airport operations, communications procedures, weather, regulations, weather services, aircraft performance, navigation, route flight, and cross-country flight planning. Prerequisite: None. Recommended to be 16 or older, may begin training at an earlier age. 

Required Flight Time Hours will be scheduled and billed separately. This will be discussed in the first class.

Certified Flight Instructor Ground School

Course Description:  The objective of this course is to become a Certified Flight Instructor and be able to teach the following courses: rivate Pilot License, Instrument Rating License, and Commerical Pilot License. Prerequisite: Private Pilot License, Instrument Rating License, and Commerical Pilot License. Recommended to be 16 or older, may begin training at an earlier age.

FAA Part 107 License Test Preparation Course

Time: Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. 

Course Description: Join GSU Professor Dr. Sam to prepare to pass your FAA Part 107 License to fly commercial drones. There are a variety of freelance jobs available to individuals who are FAA Part 107 licensed and familiar with piloting drones. Whether you have experience in piloting drones or not, this class is for you! Anyone can earn their Part 107 certified drone pilot license. Students will have 5 Online Practice Test and FREE Online resources to prepare for the FAA Part 107 Exam.
