Course Detail: WTAU110 - Basic Controls

This hybrid 32-hour course introduces the fundamental principles needed to understand basic control systems. As a result of this training, students will be able to explain fundamental electrical principles, distinguish different inputs and outputs of control systems, build and document a relay-based seal-in circuit using ladder logic principles, and measure AC and DC voltages and currents. This course is the first of six courses that must be completed to earn the VFD & PLC Systems Technician Certificate.

Schedule: This is a hybrid, asynchronous course. Online content can be accessed anytime on Canvas, and labs will be scheduled directly with the instructors Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm. This course must be completed by 12/31/25
