Workforce Training Programs
AI @ Work: Education Workforce Microcredential
This 9-hour program meets in person twice over two weeks for three hours each and has a final asynchronous portion chosen by the participant. The training is designed for employees, small business owners, or other working professionals who would like to learn how to contribute to greater efficiency at their organization by implementing AI. As a result of this program, participants will learn to apply generative AI prompting techniques for workplace efficiency, analyze data and workplace systems using AI to improve decision making and processes, and plan AI integration in specific and relevant industries. Participants may register for as few or as many courses as they are interested in without pre-requisites. However, to receive a certificate for the program, participants must complete the two in-person courses and one asynchronous course on a field of their choosing.

Basic Computer Skills Workforce Microcredential
The Basic Computer Skills program is intended for participants who are new to computers and want support in learning to navigate and complete basic computer actions. This program consists of three courses that can be taken individually or in a complete sequence. Participants who complete all three courses will be awarded a microcredential. The program covers basic computer components, basic computer tasks, internet and email usage, plus essential digital tools like Canvas and Zoom. Participants will also learn introductory Microsoft skills in Word and Excel, applying these applications to create and format documents and organize data with basic spreadsheets.
Microsoft Excel Associate Workforce Microcredential
Demonstrate that you have the skills needed to get the most out of Excel by earning the Microsoft Excel Associate certificate. By certifying in MS Excel, participants demonstrate competency in the fundamentals of creating and managing worksheets and workbooks, applying formulas and functions, creating ranges, tables, charts, and objects. The program includes MS Excel Associate certificate exam, a minimum score of 700 is required to certify. Successful completion of this program qualifies the participant to earn a Microsoft Excel Associate Certificate.
Microsoft Excel Expert Workforce Microcredential
Take your Excel skills to the next level by earning the Microsoft Excel Expert certificate. Certifying as an Excel Expert demonstrates competency in creating, managing, and distributing professional spreadsheets for a variety of specialized purposes and situations. The program includes MS Excel Expert certificate exam, and a minimum score of 700 is required to certify. Successful completion of this program qualifies the student for the Microsoft Excel Expert certificate.
Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Workforce Microcredential
Become a Microsoft Office Specialist by certifying in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. This up to 120-hour program is self-paced and meets two days a week for 2.5 hours over a 24-week period in a lab setting. These labs are optional for the student. The course covers Intermediate to Advanced course work in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Students sit for exams when they are ready, by contacting the course lab aide who will proctor exams. As a result of this training students will be able to create templates, manipulate documents, graphics and pictures, collaborate and track changes on documents, analyze data and tables and manipulate pivot charts, practice taking Word, Excel & PowerPoint exams to prepare for certification. Once students are certified in 3 Microsoft Office applications, they are considered a Microsoft Office Specialist.
Microsoft Word Associate Workforce Microcredential
Learn the skills needed to get the most out of Word by earning the Microsoft Word Associate certificate. By certifying in MS Word, participants demonstrate competency in the correct application and features of Word by creating and editing documents for a variety of purposes and situations. The exam covers the ability to create and maintain professional looking reports, multi-column newsletters, résumés, and business correspondence. Program includes MS Word Associate certificate exam, a minimum score of 700 is required to certify. Successful completion of this program qualifies the participant for a Microsoft Word Associate Certificate.
QuickBooks Essentials Workforce Microcredential
Participants will learn the basic operations of QuickBooks Online to create and maintain a fully functional set of books for a small business. As a result of this training students will be able to build a company file; prepare a chart of accounts and add accounts; and manage customers, vendors, and items. Successful completion of this one-course program qualifies the student to earn the QuickBooks Essentials certificate.
Utah Notary Public Training Workshop Workforce Microcredential
The Utah Notary Public Training Workshop is a one-day, four-hour workshop to teach students how to be an effective and conscientious Notary Public. Students will learn how and why notaries witness and authenticate the signing of our most important documents and transactions, including mortgages, Powers of Attorney, contracts, adoption papers, advance medical directives, and many other transactions in our everyday lives. Students will be instructed on how to apply for their license and register for the State's required online exam, get a bond, and purchase a notary stamp. Completion of this one-course program qualifies the student to earn the Utah Notary Public Training Workshop Certificate.
