Course Detail: WTTG932 - Residential Electrician

The twelve-month Residential Electrician Online Advanced Career Training program prepares student to meet the high demand for electricians estimated at a 9% growth rate through 2030. Students learn the common situations in electrical work, including the use of the National Electrical CodeŽ, local electrical codes, circuits, and various types of wiring methods. Upon successful completion students have mastered the foundational knowledge and skills that are required of an entry-level electrician; are prepared to branch and feeder circuits with various types of cable and conduit; can service of circuit breakers, lighting fixtures, receptacles, switches, paddle fans, and electric motors; identify and fix electrical problems on "service calls"; install, maintain, and troubleshoot photovoltaic renewable energy systems; and gain valuable wiring skills, such as proper use of hand and power tools, splicing wires together properly, attaching electrical boxes to building framing members, fishing a cable in an existing wall, and installing an overhead service entrance.
