Course detail: CRE Framework: Reimagining Learning

Reimagining Learning Through the CRE Framework is a four-module online course designed for educators and leaders who are ready to innovate, integrate AI with purpose, and build learning environments that support long-term change. Grounded in the University of Kansas' CRE Framework, participants engage in interactive mini-lectures, AI tool explorations, data scenarios, vision-setting activities, and leadership simulations to explore transformation through three core lenses: disrupting traditional practice, elevating student involvement, and starting small to scale big.

Throughout the course, learners build skills to evaluate the impact of their innovations, strengthen adult learning systems, and lead change through shared ownership and collective capacity. Using templates, coaching simulations, dashboards, and artifact submissions, participants develop practical, ready-to-use products they can bring back to their schools or districts.

Course Outcomes:
  • Design and implement innovative learning practices: Apply a systematic framework to rethink traditional instructional models, elevate student voice, and launch small-scale pilots that support meaningful transformation across diverse learning environments.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret evidence of impact: Use student engagement data, educator feedback, and systems-level indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of innovative practices and make informed decisions for continuous improvement.
  • Lead and scale transformational change: Develop vision, build adult capacity, use AI-supported coaching tools, and design leadership routines that empower others and promote shared ownership of innovation across a school or district.
  • Build sustainable systems that support long-term success: Establish structures, monitoring routines, and aligned organizational processes that ensure innovations evolve into lasting, scalable, and sustainable practices.
