Course detail: Essential Legal Updates - 2026

This six hour course provides Kansas law enforcement professionals with timely legal and legislative updates that directly impact daily police operations and criminal investigations. The training focuses on newly enacted statutes, case law developments, and legislative changes effective July 1, 2025, with an emphasis on practical application in the field.


Using an interactive, web based platform, participants will actively engage in guided discussion, scenario based questions, and real time polling to explore how recent legal changes influence decision making, officer safety, investigative practices, and agency policy. The course is designed to promote understanding, consistency, and confidence when applying updated legal standards in real world situations.
