Course detail: GEA Ci3T 12: Intro to FABI

This micro-credential course is an introduction to Functional Assessment-Based Intervention (FABI), a systematic approach to conducting a functional behavioral assessment (FBA) and developing a behavior intervention plan (BIP). This course will give participants a brief overview of FABI a five-step, manualized process to identify the function of a challenging behavior (i.e., why the behavior occurs) and develop an aligned intervention plan to increase contextually- appropriate, productive replacement behaviors. FABI can be used as a Tier 3 intervention in Comprehensive, Integrated Three-tiered (Ci3T) Model of Prevention, but can also be useful in schools that do not have Ci3T in place. This course is a prerequisite to the more detailed Ci3T FABI Step 1- FABI Step 5 microcredential courses.
