Biography: Greg attended Emporia State University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration and a degree in Marketing. While completing his degrees, Greg was hired by the Emporia Kansas Police Department where he was employed for a year and half. During that time he attended KLETC and was a member of the 93rd class. He graduated on the Director's Honor Roll. Greg wanted to move back home to the Kansas City area so he applied with and was hired by the Overland Park Kansas Police Department where he has worked for 33 years.During his time in Overland Park, Greg has worked in Patrol, served as a Field Training Officer, Crime Prevention Officer, Traffic Safety Officer, and as a Detective in the Crimes against Persons Unit. Greg iscurrently assigned to the Office of Professional Standards. For the past six years Greg has worked on Department Accreditation. Ancillary duties that Greg has served in throughout his career includedserving as a SWAT Officer, Police scuba diver, Firearms Instructor, Regional Academy Instructor, and occasionally as a Public Information Officer.Greg has attended advanced investigation classes taught by John Reid and Associates, United States Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Missouri Highway Patrol and the Kansas City Missouri Police to name a few. He has attended instructor development courses presented by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC), and Heckler and Koch (HK) International Training Division and attended the National Crime Prevention Institute at the University of Louisville, KY.While working in the Crimes Against Persons Unit, Greg investigated cases ranging from serious felonies such as rape, robbery, aggravated battery, murder, to misdemeanor assault and battery, domesticviolence and crimes against children. In 2000 Greg was the lead investigator for the Overland Park Police in a notorious serial killer case (John E. Robinson). He was awarded Bronze Valor awards by the Kansas City Metro Chiefs of Police and the Kansas Chiefs and Sheriffs Association for exceptional investigative work on the case, he was also awarded the IHIA Award for Excellence by the International HomicideInvestigations Association.

This course will cover the various aspects of case management including case prioritization, follow up investigations, documentation, time management, developing contacts and working with prosecutors.
