Course detail: CERTFINSP2 - Fire Inspector 2
PREREQUISITE FOR THIS CERTIFICATION: The candidate must have successfully certified at the Fire Inspector 1 level prior to being awarded this certification.
WRITTEN TEST: There is a 100-question written test.
PROJECT: There is a take-home project book that covers all the required skills. Depending upon the version assigned, the candidate may be required to inspect a commercial remodel or addition project; inspect a school or government building; or inspect a commercial enterprise. The project book must be completed and submitted within six (6) months.
STANDARD: The certification test is based upon the NFPA 1031, Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Inspector and Plan Examiner, 2014 edition, Chapter 5, Fire Inspector II.
READING REFERENCE TEXT: The written tests are referenced to IFSTA, Fire Inspector and Code Enforcement, 8th edition. The specific referenced pages are listed in the Fire Inspector 2 Certification Guide, available on the KFRTI website.
FEES: The fee for this certification test is $60.00 for Kansas fire fighters and $120.00 for non-Kansas fire fighters.
Effective immediately the Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute will not invoice individuals. Payment should be made at the time of registration via credit card.
Fees may be invoiced to organizations ONLY if a Purchase Order from that organization is provided to the Institute, via email or fax, prior to the event. After receipt of the purchase order, the Institute will manually register the students and invoice the organization. Please call KFRTI at 785-864-9244 to utilize this option.
