Course Description: In partnership with International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards, IBCCES, GovState's School of Extended Learning is pleased to offer two Autism Certifications. A Certified Autism Specialist? is defined as a professional who is responsible for the support and/or services provided to an individual on the autism spectrum that directly relates to the professional's specific scope of practice.

14 hours of continuing education that directly relates to autism (either previously earned or obtained through IBCCES); renewed every two years. (Renewal fee: $199.00 every two years (Additional $51 for renewal training))
Becoming certified takes these steps:
- Complete Online Training Program
- Pass the online Autism Competency Exam (included in registry fee)
- IBCCES Verification
- Board Approval
- Certification Issued
Students will have 60-days access to complete the self-paced training (14 CE Hours).
Students will be provided a PDF study guide to download and keep as a reference. The assessment is online, multiple-choice and timed (must be completed in one sitting). Must score 80% or higher. There are no limits to the number of retakes and accommodations are available upon request.
Pre-Requisite: Master's Degree and two years experience working in your field who treats or supports individuals with autism (or a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years experience)
Books: Online materials included in course fee. Registration indicates that you have read and agreed to the IBCCES Financial Terms and Conditions, Ethical Responsibilities and Standards of Practice, as well as the IBCCES Privacy Policy.
