Times: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Course Description: Governors State University is hosting hands-on science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics STEAM Camp Fun from the weeks July 13-17 and July 20-24! Campers will be guided through STEAM activities! This program is also ideal for Homeschoolers. All are welcome! Registration will close at 50 participants!

Fernando Jones' Blues & GovState Broadcast Kids Camp

Time: 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. 

Course Description: Governors State University is hosting Blues Kids!  Campers will be guided through basic music skills necessary to play proficiently and effectively in a music community and be introduced to the art of live professional performance! This program is ideal for any child passionate about music. All are welcome! Registration will close at 50 participants!

  • Ages: Middle and High School Students (11 to 16)
  • Location: Governors State University
  • Lunch and snacks are included in registration!
  • Children should bring their instruments! Arrangements can be made for kids without.

Blues Camp will cover important aspects of live performance, including: 

  • Music Literacy
  • Accompaniment 
  • Ensemble
  • Sound Leveling
  • Blues Cord Patterns
  • Call and Response
  • Practical Application of Skills
  • Creating a Set
  • Getting in the Groove!

Health and Human Services Camp

Health and Human Services Camp

Camp Fee: $100 (Scholarships Available)

Dates: To be determined

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Camp Description: The Health Careers Camp is a two-day camp that focuses on different health career programs offered at GovState. These programs include Occupational Therapy, Communication Disorders, Physical Therapy, Nursing, Community Health, Social Work, Health Administration/Health Informatics, and Addictions. Campers will be coached in basic CPR.
