Course Description: Wine: Vineyard Tour of Redside Ranch

Central Oregon is known as a beer town, but its residents and visitors are also surrounded by a robust culture of wine, including the growing of grapes in the High Desert. This afternoon tour visit with the vineyard manager of Redside Ranch Vineyard in Terrebonne. We will learn about the life cycle of a vineyard, growing grapes in Central Oregon and the wonderful, hard work of the viticultural side of wine.

The tour includes:

An outdoor walking tour at Redside Ranch Vineyard with the vineyard manager, Kerry Damon
A tasting of Redside Ranch wines in the vineyard
Light snacks with the tasting
Van transportation with a COCC-approved driver to and from the Chandler Lab in Bend.

Additional Course Information

Participants must be 21+ years of age. The tour departs from the COCC Chandler Lab Building at 1027 NW Trenton Ave., Bend, OR 97701. The tour includes walking on uneven ground. Please wear appropriate footwear and be prepared to be outside all afternoon.

Sarah Wolcott

Biography: Sarah Wolcott grew up on a farm in Eastern Washington State and established her roots in the wine industry from an agricultural perspective. Her maturation from vine to bottle was aided by an undergraduate degree in Spanish Literature from Whitman College in the beautiful wine country of Walla Walla, WA and a wine industry specific MBA from the Bordeaux Business School in France. Sarah's pursuit of the good-life has included positions as a whitewater guide and ski instructor in the US and Germany. Sarah now runs her own wine business consulting company from her home in Bend and is a firm believer that every country has unique wine offerings and travel opportunities. She is always excited to share her love of wine and adventure with COCC Continuing Education students.

Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash.
