Course detail: FAA Aircraft Certification and Airworthiness Approvals

This course provides an overview of FAA Aircraft Certification in its regulatory context, including type design approvals, production approvals, airworthiness approvals, major repair and alteration approvals, field approvals, and continued operational safety. It includes an overview of FAA's airworthiness functions and related organizational structure, along with the FAA's customer principles including process improvement and the Partnership for Safety Plan (PSP). The course also examines the relevant Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) parts, including procedural rules and the airworthiness standards, FAA's rulemaking and advisory processes; and FAA's process for airworthiness validation of imported products. Prior certification activity is beneficial, but not required.

This course is FAA-approved for Inspection Authorization (IA) renewal.

Note: This course replaces FAA Functions and Requirements Leading to Airworthiness Approval. Either course qualifies towards the Certificate of Specialization in Aerospace Compliance.
