Course detail: Elements of Human Trafficking

Human trafficking involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act. Every year, millions of men, women, and children are trafficked worldwide - including right here in the United States. It can happen in any community and victims can be any age, race, gender, or nationality.

This hour long course is the first component of the Human Trafficking online series.

This series is a collaboration between the Office of the Attorney General and the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center.

The goal of the entire series is to increase awareness of the signs of human trafficking law enforcement will encounter and to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to these situations. The result will be more human trafficking victims recovered and stronger cases to bring those responsible to justice. The goal of this course is to present the history, scope, and basic elements of human trafficking in all forms. It is on these basics the remainder of the courses will be built upon.
