Biography: fficer Kyle Appleby has over 22 years of experience in law enforcement. He has served with the Springfield Missouri Police Department, the Polk County Missouri Sheriff's Office, and the Douglas County Kansas Sheriff's Office. Throughout his career at the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Kyle held multiple roles, including Housing Unit Officer, Housing UnitManager, Offender Registry Officer, Booking/Processing Officer, CourtLiaison, Academy Director, Training Officer, Diversity Officer, andLGBTQ+ Liaison.Kyle is currently assigned to the Training Division, where hisresponsibilities include recruitment, hiring, officer training, equipment management, and record-keeping.In 2023, Kyle attended the National LGBT Law Enforcement LiaisonAcademy, where he earned certifications in LGBT Community Liaison(Master Class), LGBT Awareness for Trainers, and Hate CrimeInvestigations.Kyle specializes in training law enforcement personnel on bestpractices for interacting with the LGBTQ+ community.
