Captain Ralston has a strong passion for training and has served as a Field Training Officer, Master Patrol Officer, Firearms Instructor, and Taser Instructor. His expertise in training and leadership has also earned him the role of SWAT Team Leader, where he has led and trained a team of highly skilled officers.Throughout his career, Captain Ralston has served in many other vital roles within the department, including the Criminal Street Gang Unit, Sergeant, Rangemaster, Master Armor, and Bicycle Officer. He has also commanded the Internal Affairs Division, ensuring that the department adhered to high ethical standards and addressed any concerns or complaints from the community. 

Currently, Captain Ralston commands the Support Services Division, which includes 911, Records, Evidence, and Internal Affairs. He continues to lead by example, serving as a role model for the officers under his command and the community he serves. Captain Randy Ralston's dedication to his profession, training, and leadership has significantly impacted the Garden City Police Department and the community it serves.
