Course detail: FIP - Fair and Impartial Policing
The course is based on the science of human bias, which suggests that biased policing is not, as some contend, due to widespread racism (and other prejudices) in policing. In fact, the science suggests that even well-intentioned humans manifest biases that can impact on their perceptions and behavior. This training presents what is known about human biases and provides guidance for promoting fair and impartial policing. This course will also identify important information about racial or other biased-based policing by exploring the new statutes and how the changes will impact law enforcement in Kansas.
