Building AI Teaching Ecosystems is the capstone course in the AI for Core Teaching Work sequence, helping K-12 educators design a coherent, sustainable AI-supported system tailored to their own students, content, and context, rather than a collection of unconnected tools. AI does not change the enduring purposes of education; it can enhance teaching and learning across a classroom or school when every part of the system keeps human judgment, safety, and ethics at the center. Using the WISE AI Literacy Framework, participants will define clear instructional goals and principles for AI use, integrate student-facing and teacher-facing tools into connected workflows, and ensure that every AI application supports disciplinary learning and visible student thinking. The course guides educators in connecting planning, instruction, assessment, and communication into one intentional system. Participants will leave with a comprehensive AI-enhanced teaching system, such as a visual map connecting a student writing coach, a teacher feedback workflow, and a family communication routine into one coherent approach for a specific course or grade level, along with a reflection on how the system will grow and change over time.

Learning activities take approximately 20 hours to complete and successful participants earn a certificate of completion for 20 hours toward teacher license renewal (e.g., PDPs in Kansas).

Participants have 60 days to complete each offering upon registration. Please consider this when choosing how many courses to register for at the same time.
